The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.
But this year, as throughout the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, currently their client-list includes McDonald's.
